The Task

Win A Kool House is a fundraiser set up by two sports clubs in Co. Wicklow that came in the form of a draw where you could buy a ticket for €105 and be in with a chance of winning a 3 bedroom house in Co. Wicklow worth €400,000. The client was recording huge traffic figures to the site, but the conversion rate was very low. They tasked us with improving the CRO to increase ticket sales on the website.

The Solution

  • Countdown timer: Added a countdown timer to the main banner to create urgency, showing the deadline to buy tickets
  • CTA: Large buy a ticket now button added to the sticky menu
  • Trusted Partners: added the logos of our big name partners such as the FAI to increase trust
  • Video: improve interaction and engagement on the page, induce emotion
  • As Featured On section: This again improved the trust factor on the page
  • Reduced Steps: We removed a step in the buying process, and took the main CTA straight to the offsite payment page, rather than the bridge page with more information which existed before our work
  • Colour: Tested red, blue and orange CTA buttons on homepage, settling on orange after A/B testing

The Result

  • We surpassed the original goal of selling 6,500 tickets with a total of 8,353 tickets being sold within 5 months raising a whopping €920,000 for the clubs!
